Otto Reinhardt loved plants that refused to die, and chased them into places designed to kill him for it. The desert flora of southwestern Africa particularly fascinated him: plants that survived on fog, slept for years, or appeared indistinguishable from stones until it rained.

He was also a genius of botanical preservation. His handmade field press accompanied him everywhere and was designed to bring a living thing home dead but honest.

Reinhardt disappeared in a sandstorm two days from water. Eleven weeks later, searchers found his press half-buried in the sand, buckled shut.

Inside were forty-one specimens in flawless condition, each carefully labelled and dated. The final specimen was collected the day he died.

The Trophy Glow Torch includes a life size skull replica, bulb basket, a 15ft. hemp cord with an on/off switch, and one LED flame bulb. You provide the standard Tiki brand torch base, available at any big box store.
